A dying summer

A summer rebirth is a time most look forward too
Beach days and teachers who don’t need to teach
Family gatherings and story’s unraveling
Endless days in the sun
Endless time to have fun
Traveling for new experiences and greeting the old ones again
A time to touch a land where you’ve longed to be
A time to return to a land where you belong
Breathing in the hot air
Releasing the cold air from your lungs
Hugs that haven’t been hugged Songs that have be sung
Games that haven’t been played
Memories that are yet to be made
A time to relax
A time to ignore modern day facts
A time to slow down from the fast pace world
A time to go face to face with those you haven’t seen
Summer continues to run
Summer continues to walk
Summer starts to crawl
Summer start to weaken
Summer loses its heat
Summer withers away
Summer dies
Summer is dead
Digging under the soil of a new autumn ground
Making a coffin for summer
Laying next to the summers before
Bury me next to summer, won’t you mother?
Bury me next to summer, will you father?
The autumn air breathes on my neck
Reminds me that summer has come to an end
Next year will be the same
Next year new things will be made
Next year is yet to come
Next year I’ll have to wait
Although I am not sad
But I’m not happy
So what am I?
I must be Summer
Dont bury me next to Summer, mother
Dont bury me next to summer, father
Bury me with summer
I am summer
And like summer
I will die
So for now
I will live

brother,
when you told me you'd always have my back
i was skeptical
i believe i had a right.
now,
as you tower over me
my chest flush to the icy concrete below me
in this dingy warehouse
i am now to call my grave,
and you reach into the cavern that is my back,
and you grip my spine
and you pull
i fear
that you were telling the truth
when you told me you'd always have have my back,
brother.
